The Cascades in Yerevan is a multi-purpose wonder.
Monumental fountain: check
Northern anchor-point to the cross-Yerevan axis: check
Best place in the city for views across Yerevan and of Mt Ararat: check
Multi-level Modern Art Gallery: check
And unlike most modern art galleries, where the building overwhelms the paucity of content, there was actually some stuff worth looking at here.
My advice though: Take the escalator up the inside and then walk down the stairs outside!
