From Ireland we headed to Sweden to visit our friend.
Up the coast from Gothenburg is Sweden’s fourth largest island, Tjörn.
And on the island is an open air sculpture park which made for a pleasant day’s visit.
We appreciated the art as it was placed by the sculptors. We also had a lot of fun deconstructing the meaning and momentarily 'installing' our own interpretations to create ephemeral pieces of art. Very post-modern!
We made friends with some lonely pieces
We offered mouth to mouth to some unconscious statues.
We offered sun cream to some over exposed statues.
We roasted in the intense sauna-esque heat of one piece of art which wasn’t always open to enter.
We squelched our way through a bog up to the Swirl and views over the coast.
We laughed at the mounting for the latest installation (yet to arrive), placing stones in the frame and imagining that it would be fitting for such a large frame to feature such a small piece.
