What do you do with a spare Bank Holiday weekend in May? You could do worse than take yourself to Malta.Desperate to win the Eurovision Song Contest so they can use it as a 3 and a half hour long tourism advert, Malta has embraced it's EU membership to the full by jumping straight into the Euro too.
Valetta is the least populated capital city in the EU with just 7,000 residents and makes for easy strolling. Everyone in the city lives off their balconies so despite emptiness at street level, the place has quite a buzz.
