Djemma al Fna by night

The Djemma al Fna at night is something to behold.

Imagine in the background are several competing snake charmers and their musical whine.

Imagine too the smells from the cooking stalls generating all that steam.

Hear the shouts of touts enticing you to buy their orange juice; their cashews; their uncle's carpets.

See most of the guys wandering around in the national hooded overcoat, which makes them look like elongated Jawas.

Note that at night there are very few local women wandering around at all.

All watched over by the 11th Century Koutubia Mosque as it has been.
