The Shirvanshah Palace

What slef-respecting capital doesn't have a Medival Castle?

The Shirvanshah Palace complex is on the edge of the Old Town of Baku and like much else in the city centre has been fully restored.

The Palace itself has been turned into an art gallery.

The mosque is used solely as a mausoleum for the royal family that lived here and was a very quiet, peaceful and reflective place.

There was also an excavated hammam to wander around and a dungeon pit to lower yourself into.

Well worth it!
