So as I stood outside the Luxembourg service station in the drizzle at 4am on a February morning, the penny dropped.
I had made it to Luxembourg with no prior planning. The coach I was on taking me skiing had detoured from the original schedule because petrol is so much cheaper in Luxembourg than anywhere else en route.
Yet I realised that Europe had other little countries. Lot's of other little countries in fact. And whether land locked or island states, the chances of me arriving in one without actually aiming to get there were pretty minimal.
So I decided that 2007 was to be the year of the itty bitty teeny tiny countries of Europe (and maybe Asia Minor too). Every last one of them.
