One fascinating feature of the grounds of Blarney Castle is the Poison Garden.
Every plant in this walled space by the Castle is a poisonous plant. Some are strong diuretics; others lethal. It was really interesting to read the informative plaques about the plants.
It was strange that they were all placed in such a way that involved leaning down and in such small font that you really had to lean into them. Just as you were reading that a particular plant had lethal spores which you shouldn’t breath in you realised the notice had drawn your face to within several inches of the damned thing!
